So when exactly will FPL go live for 2026/27?

What Usually Happens Before Launch
In the lead up to a new season, we typically see player prices revealed by OfficialFPL on X, and the FPL website goes in to maintenance (it will show a "Game is updating message").

2016 - 2025 dates courtesy of Fantasy Football Scout. I dug further back for a larger sample size. The 2020/21 season was an outlier due to the Covid pandemic.
The average launch across these 15 years works out to 33 days before Gameweek 1 (Excluding that 2020/21 season which was disrupted by Covid).
So When Will 2026/27 Launch?
Gameweek 1 kicks off on Friday, August 21 - one of the the latest season opener in recent memory. Putting it all together, a launch (or at least the first signs of price reveals and rule announcements) seems likely to land shortly after the World Cup concludes.
Note: In the table above there has only been one weekend launch ever which was the Covid season and essentially an outlier. Wednesday is the most common launch day (6/15 seasons), followed by Thursday (5/15).
33 days before Gameweek 1 is July 19th, however it is logical that the Premier League will wait for the World Cup's conclusion, therefore I'm predicting price reveals begin week commencing 20th July and launch later that week on 23rd July!
