61 points and a red arrow last gameweek after that long wait for FPL's return. So that was worth the wait!

Just a couple of key players doing rank damage mainly, Calafiori and Rogers and a captain blank didn't help. De Cuyper with a 15 pointer though, how ridiculous has he been? Now the top scoring defender in the game, and 2 goals 3 assists in 6 games is exactly the same goal involvements total he got in the entirety of last season!

Icing on the cake it was Gross who assisted it, also in the team and Brighton going down to 10 men wasn't the worst outcome as it meant De Cuyper was off early with the clean sheet banked. Elsewhere though some disappointments, blanks from Raya, Thiaw, Mendy, King, Saka, Wissa. Was saying in the deadline stream that this gameweek would be a painful learning moment, Chelsea's goalscorer odds plummeted the morning of the stream, the odds fell off a cliff and historically that's indicated someone significant not playing.

So I ended up bringing King in and benching Joao Pedro. Weirdly despite Joao Pedro's haul on the bench it ended up resulting in 1 extra point, so a terrible decision rewarded which was very lucky. Sangare left the team for King and Szoboszlai didn't play which was how it ended up being a good call weirdly. So lesson learned to pay much less attention to odds movements, the markets are clearly volatile and unpredictable.

🧤 Goalkeeper

  • Raya in goal.

🛡️ Defenders

The defence is looking well set this week. Van Hecke comes back in to the starting 11 for Coventry home. Along side De Cuyper, Konsa and Raya in goal.

Forest have created so many good chances just not been productive finishing them, over 10 xG but only 5 scored. 106 shots third most. So a tough test potentially though host Arsenal off the back of consecutive losses to Palace and Coventry which is wild. Man City top the clean sheet odds this week with a 44% chance vs Ipswich. Arsenal are second with 42%, Spurs 38%, Brighton and Fulham are on 36%. So 4 players from the top 4 this week.

Spurs could move out of the relegation zone with a win, Bournemouth are 1 place above them, Sunderland 2 above and they play each other. Tottenham's defence hasn't been the issue, they've done alright in terms of goals conceded and clean sheets, it's the attack which has been woeful, 6.6 xG is third worst after Coventry and Hull.
