Wildcard Review: GW6 Summary 🎯
Bench boost active!
The Wildcard got off to a good start, I'm relieved to say, with 70 points all out. I was carried by a few players certainly: Haaland leaving it very late with just the assist at 90 minutes, then 2 goals in stoppage time for a 16-pointer 🤯. I know lots of you Triple Captained—fantastic decision, well in if you did!

A lot of added time returns actually:
-
Senesi with the assist and achieved defcon again, the only defender with a 100% record starting all games now.
-
Semenyo with a free kick goal.
-
And of course a huge 13-pointer from Gabriel scoring off a corner late vs Newcastle for the winner, defcon points, and bonus 🥳.
Those are the highlights; the lowlight certainly Bruno's missed pen 😩. It could've been an absolutely spectacular week, but I can't complain.

For example:
-
Defcon Beasts: Boom, instant data. Senesi best for Defcon/90, 100% success rate.

-
Midfielders: Caicedo has the most per 90, 67% success is top of all mids.
-
4+ Point Hit Measures: Which players have the highest floor, who's scoring 4+ points most frequently?
-
Livramento top, though injured so we'll ignore him.
-
Mukiele, Semenyo, Haaland, Xhaka among those with 83% hit rate.
-
There's even more in that and loads more to be added. If you'd like to support the project, it's like 58p per week and unlocks a ton of exclusive premium features, hides ads, dashboard customisation and more. Find FPL Focal in the app store or use the link in the description.
GW7 Bench Boost Team Selection 📋
Let's get into the bench boost team for GW7 then.
Goalkeeper

- It's my set-and-forget Raya with a home fixture to West Ham. Nuno's West Ham now and a huge test for him. Still far too early to have implemented his philosophy or drilled his tactics into the players yet, so Arsenal are huge favourites for this one.
Defence
- I'm doubled up in defence, with Gvardiol, Gabriel, and Senesi.

Clean Sheet Odds & Analysis
-
Looking at the GW7 clean sheet odds on the app, Arsenal's 52% is comfortably top this week, the only team likelier to keep one than not according to the markets.

-
Aston Villa are second with 42%, Man Utd 38%, Newcastle 36%. Senesi is on 34%, Gvardiol 32%.
-
It's no secret that West Ham have been shocking defending corners; you can see it with the eye test and the data backs it up—26 headers conceded is more than any team this season. Arsenal the opposite end. Can Gabriel do it again?
Player Updates
-
Gvardiol was withdrawn early vs Burnley, only 0.41 xG conceded which was the lowest of last gameweek, so quite disappointing to get just the 2 points given Tarkowski ended up on 1 as well, who is a popular alternative. Anthony is just on fire for Burnley right now.
-
We've got a lot of midweek football before next deadline, so I'll be keeping an eye on player minutes, any injuries, etc. More on that in a minute.
-
Bournemouth are looking like this season's Forest, a solid defence but still having to make the defensive contributions. Senesi's 13.5 per 90 more than any defender. His CB partner Diakhite has also fared well with 9.4/90.
-
The default on the preset is players that have started more than 75% of games. If you bring it down to 60%, you include players like Mukiele who joined up later; he wasn't in the game until GW2 and started in GW3. 12.75 dcs/90 places him just behind Senesi.
-
Alderete is looking like the better of the two Sunderland CBs after last gameweek mind, given he scored. 10.9/90 for Alderete.
