Welcome back for another article. 📖

Who are the best players to buy for GW37? Two gameweeks to go and there's still plenty of very high upside players to pick from if you're looking for a final push. 📈

🧤 Goalkeepers

So goalkeepers first and will keep this part fairly brief because I'm sure most of you are looking at other positions. There's a few fixtures with great clean sheet potential this week and the obvious one is Arsenal home to Burnley, likely to have the best clean sheet odds we will see all season across the 760 matches played. 🏟️

As it stands 58% chance Arsenal shut Burnley out, the title is on the line, 2 more wins and Arsenal lift their first premier league trophy for 22 years. Last gameweek Arsenal defence was over 100% effective ownership, so just owning one defensive asset means clean sheets hurt your rank. Raya is top this gameweek and will be again in GW38 so if you need a keeper and have the funds he's your man. Golden glove already secured with 18 clean sheets this season, 3 golden gloves on the bounce. 🧤

Honourable mention to Pickford who has Sunderland home, and Kelleher facing West Ham home, Leno with Wolves away. Those three are the next names on the list this week and have good clean sheet potential. As you can see looking at the next 2 projections column we're at a point in the season where many picks are neck and neck for the run in, which basically means you can go with your gut when there's a close call between some players. 🧤

Let's talk about that more with defenders, mids and forwards.

🛡️ Defenders

Gabriel tops the table, that 11 pointer last gameweek, has put him past 200 points for the season, he needs 7 more points to join the all-time FPL dream team across the final two games. Though a bit of an asterisk that one with the introduction of defcons isn't it. The all-time dream team has Robertson, Trent and Van Dijk in the back 3. Van Dijk with 208 points the lowest of the 3. Looks very likely now, with 1 clean sheet needed in the final 2 games. 🛡️

Is Gabriel a captain shout?

Absolutely, he's produced 6 double digit returns this season. Only Bruno, Haaland and Bruno G have produced more than Gabriel's 6 hauls. Going back to the earlier point Arsenal defence is over 100% ownership combined so if he's your only Arsenal defender then that's a way to guarantee some gains off an Arsenal clean sheet, you never know it could be a game where he gets a goal involvement. Burnley have conceded 113 headed goal attempts this season, ranking second worst after West Ham. ⚽

Saliba is second on the table, then Tarkowski, then Mosquera, Keane, Collins, Van Dijk, Mykolenko.

White was photographed leaving the West Ham game with a knee brace on after going off injured first half, his season could potentially be over. Huge shame as he was looking such a good pick. Mosquera is expected to come in, Arteta was unsure if Timber will play again this season. So if he doesn't play again then Mosquera for 5.3m is the cheapest route into the defence. Calafiori went off injured at half time so the left backs are risky. Lewis-Skelly also an option playing in midfield.

Tarkowski came away with a goal, assist, 13 defensive contributions and maximum bonus against Palace for a 15 point haul. His final two games are decent as well, startable in both especially this week home to Sunderland. 🛡️

Keane is the best alternative if you're tight for money, Branthwaite out for the season so he's a 4.5m route into the defence and honestly has every chance of outscoring Tarkowski for 1.2m cheaper, with a bit of luck on your side. 3 goals this season, 3 goals last season. In fact only one season ever he's failed to score on the premier league since his debut in 2016/17 so he has an eye for goal. ⚽

Arsenal and Everton are the two teams I would look at if making a defender transfer this week. Van Hecke is on 3.9 points by the way so he's startable for sure, just misses out on the table, Andersen is suspended after picking up a red vs Bournemouth so it could be Bassey and Diop CB vs Wolves. Mukiele is on 3.7 points, Lewis-Skelly 3.6 but depends massively on his minutes which are 60 by default, 80 minutes for example shoots him up to 4.8 points, joint third here and he's 5m.
