Welcome back for another article.
52 points last gameweek a red arrow to 12.5k, a painful clean sheet wipe on double Leeds defence the difference between a green and red, fine margins. 🛡️ Leeds only conceded 0.57 xG so quite an unlucky one for those of you with Leeds defence in your team. The front 3 all scored, Joao Pedro, Thiago, Haaland which helped minimise the red and Hill with a 10 pointer vs Palace a huge return in a lower scoring week, Senesi as well with 14 points after winning the penalty and earning max bonus. ⚽

I'm quick to point out my mistake sometimes so I've got to mention the decision to sell Gabriel for Bijol which was a 10 point gain in the double, and then delaying the decision to buy Gabriel back a week which was an extra 4 point gain as I would have sold Hill so that's 14 points just from that. Going to need more good fortune for a shot at 10k though as this is a popular triple captain week for anyone that still has it, plus there will be some bench boosts active, and a lower percentage of wildcards and free hits this week. Only 2 free transfers as well, with no Palace players for the double, no Arsenal players, and Cherki is looking like the much better pick than Semenyo so it's a real puzzle how to try and solve that with only 3 gameweeks left. 🧩
I've got a graphic from LiveFPL here showing the rank tiers, so open your app and double check how many total points you're on, and this helps to show where other rank tiers are relative to you. 1994 points is 1m. 2045 points is 500k, 2124 points is 100k, 2149 points is 50k. I'm 6 points behind 10k currently. 📊

🧤 Goalkeeper
- Verbruggen comes back in to the starting 11 for the first time since GW32 where he returned 9 points with a clean sheet against Burnley, having also kept a clean sheet home to Chelsea the following week on the bench boost. 🧤 Brighton have really tightened up and finding form at the perfect time to potentially claim a European spot for next season, they've kept 3 clean sheets in their last 6 matches, joint most.

🛡️ Defenders
-
In defence it's Hill, Van Hecke and O'Reilly.
-
Double Brighton defence, playing Wolves home who are struggling for goals, over the last 6 matches they rank rock bottom in the league for expected goals with 4.51. 🛡️ Only Chelsea have scored fewer than their 3 goals. It's unimaginable that Chelsea have 1 goal over that run, what am I doing with double Chelsea attack in my team?!
-
It's not a bad fixture for Hill and he's been so consistent recently, Bournemouth aren't conceding much, lots of clean sheets and defcon however it feels like the right time to buy Gabriel back now which would mean dropping Hill to first on the bench.

- Man City are top of the clean sheet odds for the Palace game, or joint with Brighton on 46%, then Villa vs Burnley is 38%, City's Brentford fixture 36%, same as Arsenal. Bournemouth have been given a 20% chance so it's a definite upgrade on clean sheet odds this week.

- And lastly O'Reilly with a home double gameweek, Brentford home first, then Palace home, then 3 days after that the FA Cup final, then 3 days after that GW37, then 5 days after that GW38. It's a hectic schedule and he's definitely in Pep's best 11, given the packed schedule hopefully he plays every game still. 🏃♂️ Hopefully next season they add an emergency loan chip next season where you can own a fourth player from a team for a gameweek, I'd love to have another City player this week. Have you got any chip ideas that you think would be a good addition or replacement for an existing chip?
