The first gameweek of the season completed, and I'll honestly take a score of 60 points. With just over 600,000 chips activated, it will take a long time for the rankings to shake out. The average score was 54, so I was 6 points above average. I was originally on 59, but a late bonus recalculation saw Sanchez clinch a bonus point. Double Spurs defense thankfully delivered for Frank's first league game. Salah had a 94th-minute goal and a bonus point to take him from 2 to 8 points for a 16-point captain haul. 👏 And a class league debut from Reijnders with a goal and assist, and a perfect ball over the Wolves defense to create Haaland's first goal, assisted by Lewis.
I am very pleased with that as a first score, honestly. The FPL rankings are extremely volatile. If you started well, don't get complacent; a bad GW2 could send me down to 6m. Or if you're, say, 7m, a good gameweek 2 can send you up to 1m. That's how condensed the ranks are. 8 points separates 4m from 2m, 11 points separates 2m from 500k, and 9 points separates 500k from 100k. Quite a few blanks, but patience is key, especially this early on in the season. 🧘
