Initial Predicted Lineups for ALL 20 Premier League teams ✍️
I’ve indicated the nailed-on picks with a green circle 🟢
New transfers are sure to shake things up, let’s begin.
ARSENAL
🟢 Raya, Gabriel, Timber, Rice, Saka
Tzolis looks to be an obvious Trossard replacement.
With Saliba out long-term, we can expect Mosquera to get good minutes as long as Arsenal don’t sign another centre-back (Hincapie is preferred as a left-sided centre-back).
Bruno Guimarães is a heavily rumoured player Arsenal are after.
ASTON VILLA
🟢 Martínez, Konsa, Cash, Kamara, Watkins
Manzambi is Aston Villa’s big new signing; it’ll be interesting to see where exactly he plays, likely replacing Rogers.
João Gomes slots into the midfield as a Tielemans replacement.
I’d anticipate Garnacho to be more of a bench option; we’ll have to wait and see, especially as Aston Villa have Champions League football to juggle.
BOURNEMOUTH
🟢 Petrović, Hill, Truffert, Scott, Adams, Kroupi, Tavernier, Rayan
Rodríguez comes in as the new striker for Bournemouth; we’ll see how long Evanilson stays in the team.
With Senesi gone, expect Bournemouth to sign another centre-back.
I’d expect much more rotation as the season progresses with Bournemouth competing in the Europa League.
BRENTFORD
🟢 Kelleher, Collins, Kayode, Schade, Dango, Thiago
A couple of signings for Brentford, including Burnley’s Anthony and Salzburg’s Schuster, who is a centre-back.
I see both of these as backups, but we’ll have to see how it progresses over pre-season.
BRIGHTON
🟢 Verbruggen, Kadıoğlu, Dunk, Vušković, Wieffer, Groß
With Welbeck seemingly out the door, Brighton will have a decision to make about their starting #9.
Vušković comes straight in for Van Hecke, whilst Struijk is a bench option.
Lots of rotation in the attack; Groß is the only one who is absolutely nailed, but Hinshelwood and Gómez started most games last season.
Brighton did qualify for the Conference League, so will look to bolster their squad depth in preparation.
CHELSEA
🟢 Sánchez, Colwill, Lacroix*, James, Enzo, Caicedo, Rogers, Palmer, João Pedro
It’s still up in the air whether Alonso will primarily use a back 5 or back 4, and it could very well alternate through the season.
Rogers should slot straight into the team.
Palestra is a new right wing-back, so Reece James will line up as a right centre-back in the back 5.
- Lacroix hasn’t signed yet but is basically over the line.
Quenda is another new attacker that has been brought in, who will probably only start in a back 4.
Neto is probably not going to be a left wing-back, but Chelsea currently don’t have one with Cucurella gone.
No European football looks great for these players; they’ll have plenty more rest.
COVENTRY
Tchaouna and Amenda are new signings who I’d expect to come into the side.
CRYSTAL PALACE
🟢 Henderson, Richards, Mitchell, Muñoz, Sarr
No changes for Crystal Palace so far, but it’s almost certain Lacroix will leave.
As it stands, there are way more players who could be nailed, but I’d assume some new options to come in soon, as well as possible rotation with the Europa League fixtures.
EVERTON
🟢 Pickford, Tarkowski, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndiaye
The defence is interesting here; Tarkowski is the only one with no doubt.
Branthwaite can play left-back, Keane can play centre-back, and Garner can play right-back.
Hackney seems to be the replacement for Gueye.
Everton decided to keep Röhl and George. Röhl was given a spell out on the right at the end of the season, and if Ndiaye leaves (which is rumoured to happen), George could get substantial minutes.
FULHAM
🟢 Leno, Robinson, Bassey, Iwobi
Look in dire need of some signings.
The only two attackers who were sure of minutes have left the club, so Fulham will surely sign attacking reinforcements.
It could become apparent that a nailed attacker emerges, but as it stands, all of these attackers faced heavy rotation last season.
£4.5m Kusi-Asare is currently the backup striker, so could get minutes this season.
HULL
I know next to nothing about this team, so this is basically their last lineup.
Jack Butland has been signed as a new #1 in-between the sticks.
Will Matt Targett be a starter?
IPSWICH
Ipswich look to be attempting a Sunderland.
Emersonn, Maeda, and Fatawu are all new attackers who will be aiming to be first choice.
Diop comes in as a new centre-back.
LEEDS
🟢 Trafford*, Muharemović, Rodon, Guðmundsson, Ampadu, Stach, Okafor, Wilson, Calvert-Lewin
I think the front 3 will be pretty nailed here; Wilson is exactly what Leeds needed on the right.
Stach will not be as advanced this season, but slots in alongside Ampadu.
Muharemović is the new centre-back, replacing Struijk.
- Trafford hasn’t been announced yet but is practically confirmed.
LIVERPOOL
🟢 Alisson, Kerkez, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Isak
Now as it stands, many of these players will be certain to start; however, I do anticipate new signings to change this.
Jacquet is the Konaté replacement, and with a £60m price tag, it’s hard to see how he doesn’t immediately start.
Jones could definitely come into this side somewhere if he remains at the club.
Víctor Muñoz I feel is more of a backup option right now, but this could change.
MAN CITY
🟢 Donnarumma, O'Reilly, Guéhi, Nunes, Rodri, Anderson, Semenyo, Haaland
Anderson is the huge-money signing that comes straight into the team, the long-term Rodri replacement, but for now, it’ll be the Bernardo Silva role.
The partner to Guéhi feels totally up in the air right now.
Perhaps Maresca will be kinder with his rotation? The likes of Doku and Cherki could become nailed, but we can’t say for sure right now.
MAN UNITED
🟢 Lammens, Shaw, Maguire, Dalot, Bruno Fernandes
Surely Bruno Fernandes continues his role as a #10, meaning only 2 of Andrey Santos, Mainoo, and Tielemans can start.
Which 2 that’ll be I have no idea, so much so I think there’ll be constant rotation with all 3.
Cunha, Mbeumo, and Šeško were all competing with Amad for starts, so aren’t nailed, but you can expect Mbeumo and Cunha almost every week.
Martínez should be a starter in this side, but has been troubled with injuries frequently, as has De Ligt.
Carrick made it very clear that Dalot and Shaw were first choice.
NEWCASTLE
🟢 Pope, Thiaw, Livramento, Bruno Guimarães
A bit of a mess right now, as Bruno Guimarães looks to be leaving and Gordon and Tonali have both gone.
B. Touré and Bamba look to be their replacements respectively.
There’s very few players I would say are nailed here, given the amount of rotation we saw at the back end of last season.
Even someone like Lewis Hall, who seemed certain of starts, was benched! Trippier has gone though, so Livramento looks nailed as the right-back.
Burn and Botman could rotate, as could Barnes and Elanga, and the striker spot is a total minefield.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST
🟢 Sels, N. Williams, Murillo, Milenković, Aina, Sangaré, Gibbs-White
The backline was nailed on last season and this looks to continue.
I’m not sure if Nottingham Forest have signed an Anderson replacement yet, but Schlager can fit that role.
The wingers are big rotation risks for now.
Igor Jesus will be close to nailed, but Chris Wood is always a risk to his starts.
SUNDERLAND
🟢 Roefs, Reinildo, Ballard, Alderete, Mukiele, Sadiki, Xhaka, Le Fée, Brobbey
We should see far more rotation this season as Sunderland have Europa League football to think about, but as you can see, the strongest XI is basically nailed aside from the wingers.
Meunier shouldn’t be a risk to Mukiele’s minutes; he’ll be a backup.
SPURS
🟢 Van de Ven, Van Hecke, Porro, M. Fernandes, Tonali
The only keeper who I’m not 100% sure about yet, we’ll wait and see, but I’m 90% sure Kinský is first choice.
Many of these players haven’t played constant minutes in a long time, so I’d expect the likes of Kudus and Maddison to be managed initially but become first choice.
Centre-backs are interesting: Van de Ven and Van Hecke look to be the first-choice pairing, with Romero on his way out, but Spurs also signed Senesi, who surely won’t be satisfied being on the bench the whole season?
We’ve seen Van de Ven can play left-back, so I’d anticipate in some matchups for him to do this, meaning Udogie isn’t a nailed starter, especially with Spence still in contention.
Not sure about the left-winger spot, assuming that’ll be Tel for now.
